A mobile retargeting campaign uses device IDs to capture and follow users for retargeting later.
To setup a mobile retargeting campaign you need to first have an audience.
For mobile campaigns there are two ways to do this:
- Capturing Device IDs Using Audience Capture
- Uploading Device IDs Manually
Capturing Device IDs Using Audience Capture
You can build a list of device IDs using our Audience Capture tool and running prospecting in the mobile app environment.
To do this, create an Audience list. Go to My Audiences and create a new Audience by clicking + New Audience. Be sure to name the audience something you will remember, or be able to quickly identify and Save.
Next, set up your mobile campaign (e.g. App Campaign or Hyperlocal Campaign).
Under the General tab, check the Campaign Audience Capture and select one of the options provided (e.g. Capture Clicks) then select the audience list you want to add users to.
Uploading Device IDs Manually
- 100 sets of IDs per day
To do this, create an Audience. Go to My Audiences and create a new Audience by clicking + New Audience. Be sure to name the audience something you will remember, or be able to quickly identify and Save.
Next, click on the grey gear drop down, in the Actions column, and select the option to Upload Device IDs.
The IDs in the file are added to your audience, usually within 24 hours.
Creating the Campaign
Once you have your audience(s) you're ready to setup your mobile retargeting campaign. To do this click +New > Mobile > Mobile Retargeting.
Fill out the general campaign and device parameters and move to the Next Step. In the Audience section, select the audience you want to target/exclude (e.g. Mobile Audience) and click Target. By default, users will be targeted 0 days after they visit the page where your retargeting pixel is placed. In other words, they will be targeted immediately.
