Domain and App Rules

Note: Optimization is not enabled by default for all Basis DSP users. Contact your support team for more information about this feature and its availability.

The optimizer automatically creates and updates bid prices on domains and apps based on the campaign's performance. If a domain, app, or exchange does not meet the campaign goal, the optimizer can stop bidding on it altogether. The optimizer controls these bid prices and domain and exchange status with automatic rules

You can modify these bid prices, as well as change the status of a domain or exchange, with manual rules.

A rule can apply for all exchanges for a domain or app, or for a domain or app on a specific exchange:

  • Domain level: The rule applies to one domain or app, no matter which exchange is used.

  • Exchange level: The rule applies to one domain or app on one exchange.

To Change the Bid Price or Status for a Domain

  1. Open the campaign's Domains view.

  2. In the top half of the split screen, select the Status or edit the CPM Bid Range directly on the domain's statistics grid. Your changes apply to all exchanges delivering to the domain.

To Change the Bid Price or Status for a Domain on One Exchange

  1. Open the campaign's Domains view.

  2. On the Exchanges tab on the bottom half of the split screen, select the Status or edit the CPM Bid Range. Your changes apply to all exchanges delivering to the domain.
