Domain lists give you greater control of your inventory. A domain list is a list of websites and apps that your campaign targets (a whitelist) or excludes from your inventory (a blacklist). You can only use one list at a time in a campaign.
Domain lists are available across all of your brands and can be used for any campaign. To access your lists, click Domain Lists on the main menu. From there, you can edit all of your existing lists and create a new one.
You can either enter a domain list manually or upload a file that contains your list.
Note: You are responsible for making sure that there are no conflicts in your selected inventory within a campaign. For example, if you target “msn.com” in your Domain Scope and then add a blacklist that blocks “msn.com,” your campaign won’t run on that domain.
Entering a Domain List Manually
Click New Domain List.
Enter a Name for your list and select a List Type. A whitelist is a list of domains that you want your campaign to target. A blacklist is a list of domains where you don’t want to purchase inventory.
Click Enter Domains and type your domains in the Domains text box. Do not include a protocol (https://) or subdirectory. Each domain must appear on its own line, with a maximum of 2000 domains.
Click Create Domain List when finished.
Uploading a Domain List
Click New Domain List.
- Enter a Name for your list and select a List Type. A whitelist is a list of domains that you want your campaign to target. A blacklist is a list of domains where you don’t want to purchase inventory.
Click Upload File.
Click Select File. Your file must be a TXT or CSV up to 10 MB in size, and the domains must be on separate lines with a maximum of 100,000 domains.
If you want to upload a file that contains over 100,000 domains, contact our support team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
After you select your file, click Create Domain List.
If you upload a domain list, you cannot make changes to it within Basis DSP. To edit the list, you have to download it, make your changes, and re-upload it.
Editing a Domain List
- Click the Actions button next to the list that you want to edit and select Edit Domain List.
- If you entered the list manually, make your changes in the Domains text box.
- If you uploaded the list, upload a new file to replace the saved list. If you do not have access to the original file, click Download domain list to download the list as a CSV. This option is also available for lists that you entered manually.
Click Save to update the domain list.
You can edit the domain list for multiple campaigns at once with the Bulk Edit Domain List feature.
